The style used by LeRoy when creating “Angel of Bethesda Fountain” is reflective of the Masters. Bethesda Fountain was constructed by the city of New York to celebrate the city’s new aqueduct, which supplied safe water to the “Big Apple”. LeRoy was also commemorating the 1873 sculpture created by sculptress, Emma Stebbins, inspired often by his leisurely strolls past the Park’s fountain in Central Park.
